City farm comes alive at Sydney Park

Saturday 28 July between 10am and 2pm Join Lord Mayor Clover Moore and Gardening Australia’s Angus Stewart at Sydney Park, St Peters – near the historic brick kilns and Chimneys precinct and the new children’s playground – Map

Bring the kids along to pat farm animals, enjoy fresh fruit, plant some herbs and learn about sustainable living. Get inspired by a gardening demonstration by Angus Stewart from ABC Gardening Australia.

City of Sydney wants to know what we think of the proposed city farm, so this is a chance to tell the Council our own hopes and vision for Sydney’s first city farm.

To present your views, come on the day or visit sydneyyoursay.com.au and register to give your feedback.

Meet Sydney City Farm reps on the City Farm Advisory Committee – Vanessa Pilla and Nicola Cameron.

If you would like to speak with a City of Sydney representative about the city farm project, contact Andrew Ridge, Project Manager, on 02 9246 7267 or at aridge@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au

City Farm committee changes

There have been a few changes on the Committee this year. Andrew Jackson our President and Liesje Clement our Design Manager are in Namibia until December 2012, where Andrew is working on a film project.

Vanessa Pilla will be Acting President until their return. Liesje will continue to fulfil her role as Design Manager, thanks to the efficiency of online communication.

Julieanne Hilbers is now our Secretary and manages all correspondence and contact with our email address: sydneycityfarm@gmail.com

Our long-standing Web-content Coordinator Carla Thackarah has resigned to focus on her film production career. She is replaced by Jacqui Gilligan (wife of our Treasurer David), who is an IT Manager. Jacqui will also take over the Web & Digital media management role filled by Sam Lipovac when she leaves in August to work overseas indefinitely.

We welcome any City Farmers with communications and social media skills to join our growing Comms team. Contact Communications Director Carolin Wenzel 0417 668 957 email: carowenz11@gmail.com
